Afterschool Programs

Equity Alliance MN partners with member school district middle and high schools that are interested in hosting an afterschool program for their students. Member districts and host schools can choose from standard afterschool programs, such as Lovin’ the Skin I’m In or Synergy Social Justice Performing Arts for middle schools, and/or identify a customized afterschool program for middle or high schools.

Classroom Partnerships

Classroom Partnerships began in 2004. They are research-based, year-long educational exchanges funded through the MN Achievement and Integration Program, and include Equity Alliance MN members districts. Their goal is provide and promote integrated opportunities for students, families and staff that support academic achievement and expand cultural understanding. 

Kindergarten Readiness Camps

Kindergarten Readiness Camps provide opportunities for incoming Kindergartners and their families to engage in a diverse learning environment with students from other Equity Alliance MN member districts. The two-week (ten day) camps focus on social and early learning skills that will support students’ transition into Kindergarten.

Middle School Business Innovation Academy

Middle School Business Innovation Academy is a two-week summer program for students entering 7th and 8th grade in the fall. This program is in partnership with the University of MN – Carlson School of Management, and it is hosted on their campus. Students will participate in interactive, hands-on activities and build leadership, critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork skills while igniting a passion for learning.

Native Youth Leadership Council

Native Youth Leadership Council (NYLC) is a multi-district group of Native American high school students who meet three times monthly.  NYLC exists to provide a collective voice and represent Native youth, create space for racial and cultural exploration, leadership development and build community.

Youth Executive Board

The Youth Executive Board (YEB) is a multi-district group of high school students who meet weekly to build bonds through team-building activities, learn how to use their power in positive ways to influence change, and work to fulfill their leadership and academic potential.
