Changes Coming to EMID (February 2016)
With our new vision to become a leading voice for educational equity and integration, EMID is making some changes to our former business model. In previous years, member districts paid $30 per district student of their Achievement and Integration funding to EMID; then together we decided the programming and services that EMID would provide.
As part of our new business model, EMID member districts pay $8 per district student and then select from a menu of supplemental programs and services that meet the needs of their districts at that time. We are also offering our programs and services to other districts, charter schools, and organizations outside of our ten member districts. So far this fiscal year, fifteen districts (other than our member districts) and six charter schools have participated in our professional development offerings.
To help market EMID to new audiences, we are embarking on a branding process – the outcome of which may be a new (“doing business as”) name, logo, and tagline – and finally, an updated website!
