AVID Minnesota Summer Institute
July 25 - 27, 2017
Minneapolis Convention Center
Registrations should be completed by your AVID District Director.
This training will take place at the Minneapolis Convention Center and surrounding hotels from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Administrators and teachers attend the strand that aligns with their role and/or subject matter they teach. Visit avid.org for additional information.
AVID BRIDGE TRAINING
This is a first-year strand designed for elementary and secondary sixth grade teachers who are on a campus that does not offer the AVID Elective in sixth grade. Bridges may also be appropriate for teachers at AVID Elementary K–8 sites. Participants will be trained in AVID WICOR methodologies and strategies in order to facilitate students’ access to rigorous content. This strand will provide activities to make Site Team connections that create an environment promoting a culture of student success, academic achievement, and college readiness.

AVID TUTOR TRAINING
Tutor Training 1 is for new tutors who are looking to implement the 10-step tutorial process in the AVID Elective Class. Participants will get a hands-on learning experience and a chance to practice the tutorial with their peers.
Tutor Training 2 is for experienced tutors who are looking to deepen their understanding of the tutorial process. Tutors are given time to ask questions to help their understanding of implementation.
